On 11 April 2018, I announced that AFSA had reviewed its Personal Property Securities Register (PPSR) fees and charges to ensure we recover the costs of providing our services. These proposed fees and charges were available for comment until 4 May 2018.
The feedback we’ve received in relation to the proposed new fees and charges has been positive and I thank everyone who shared their views on the new fee structure.
I had initially flagged an implementation date for the new fees of 1 July 2018. However, after further consultation with stakeholders, we have recommended a later implementation date to the Attorney-General, to provide additional time for stakeholders to prepare for implementation of the new fees.
If the proposed fees are approved, I will advise the date when the new fees will come into effect.
