Updating your SPG details

A secured party group (SPG) is used to create and manage registrations on the PPSR. SPG details need to be kept up to date at all times. The SPG details you can edit are:

  • contact details of the individuals or organisation (secured parties)
  • address for service (email address)
  • preferences
  • SPG access code.
  • additional notification addresses
  • permissions to allow CC Copies
  • manage the SPG business rules

Address for service

All notifications relating to the SPG will be sent to the address for service, including:

Keep this email address up to date. Otherwise you will have difficulty in accessing your SPG and amending or discharging current registrations.

Your address for service must be valid

The address for service is the way an interested party contacts the secured party requesting information about a registration.

There are legislative requirements for secured parties to respond to requests for information from interested parties. See Part 8.4 of the Personal Property Securities Act 2009 (Cth).

There are legislative requirements for secured parties to give notice of the verification statement to grantors. See s157 of the Personal Property Securities Act 2009 (Cth) and Personal Property Securities (Approved Form) Instrument 2013.

Changing the address for service

Log into the PPSR.

Go to manage a secured party group.

Enter the SPG number and access code.

This will take you to the SPG screen where you will see all SPG details.

Under the address for service heading, click the edit box and make your changes. Make sure all details are correct before clicking save.

When you change the address for service, all current registrations for the SPG are updated, and a verification statement is sent to the old and new address for service.
